What To Do Today

I went to the mall today (SM Megamall) with Ate Irish to buy a few things. She bought a present for her goddaughter, who will be baptized a Catholic this Sunday. (Congratulations, welcome to the Catholic family!)

After that, we went to Starbucks' Coffee. She had a praline mocha frappe, and I had a decaff soy caramel macchiatto venti... The name's only long, because I didn't just order a macchiatto. I ordered something specific. And then we also shared a cinnamon swirl.

After that, we went out to St. Paul's to buy a statuette of the Holy Family, and a February Angel Coin. (For Shai, of course). And then we searched around Toy Kingdom for a gift for Shai. But I wasn't able to find one. And Ate Irish also bought a photo album for her friend who will get married soon.

...to be continued.

*EDIT*

Continued...
Now.

So we went to National Bookstore instead to buy Shai a set of art supplies. (Why? I love art. XD) And besides, I couldn't think of a better birthday gift for an eleven year old. She's always bored at home, and the only kid in their house is a baby. She has a scrabble board, but she doesn't have anyone to play with. They have a computer, but she's not always allowed to use it. So when she gets bored, she likes to draw or write random stuff. So we decided to buy her a:
a. sketch book
b. note book
c. exam standard pencils and black eraser
d. a number of paint brushes
e. some paint, duh...acrylic
f. a pack of specialty board
g. SAKURA oil pastels, 12 pcs.
h. And a good attache case to put them all in.

And then we bought gift wrapping decor................................it cost me a lot.

and then Chicharon! XD

And then we went home.

....as you can see, I've been... writing really shortened posts. :P Ah well. I'm so busy, I don't care.

Oh, and when I got home, i watched Avatar: The Legend of Aang -- Sozin's Comet.

It was cool, although I found it a bit weird, you know. What with the talking lion turtle island thing.... other than that, I really liked the show.

Anyway, g'night everyone.

FAQ Session with my One and Only Reader

Shakti.

If you're ever reading this, then you'll know what I'm talking about.

1. What is HG Infinity?
-HGInfinity is the manga originally created by Xela and Nona. I am the editor, digital artist and manager. It's about Azure Hitsuzen, who was given the hourglass of life (or something of the same name....as long as it's a magical hourglass...whatever)...*EDIT: i said a spoiler about who gave him the hourglass... I just deleted it, though... /EDIT* Through this, the reader will find the war between Cerulean...and another guy i'm not supposed to talk about. They are demons, or simply put, human beings with supernatural powers. Because of this, they are separated from the humans, and are identified as somewhat of a different race.

2. Does Artistilynx have something to do with school?
-No, it doesn't. Artistilynx[.com] is a website, from the mind of Samantha Cubillo. (Visit her at Twilightheart[.com])
The team is as follows:
SCubillo - Head Administrator, Top Lynx of Australian Connections, Data EVERYTHING, Creativity ANYTHING, she basically owns the thing, duh. [Team Aussie]
Gabsicle - Secondary Admin, Top Lynx of Malaysian Connections, Consultant of Creative Design, Graphic Artist, Brainstorm Team Leader [Team M'sia]
Thoughtspresso (that's me) - Secondary Admin, Top Lynx of Philippine Connections, Layout Artist, Director of Creative Design, Digital Artist, Brainstorm Team Leader [Team Phil.]
Xela - updater, junior, manga-ka (HG Infinity) [Team Phil.]
Nona - updater, junior, manga-ka (HG Infinity) [Team Phil.]
Owen Eye - graphic and logo design, font artist, updater, junior [Team Phil]
Chasey - music updater, Digital Artist, Layout Artist, junior [Team Phil.]
Syn - music updater, sophomore [Team Phil.]
Peaches - Design Contributor, sophomore [Team M'sia]
Lliam - moderator, freshmen [Team Phil.]
Gep - moderator, freshmen [Team Phil.]

The website is created for sharing art and connecting with other artists worldwide.

3. Can you draw as well as Gabs? Or Better?
-I can't really say that. But I do draw. (http://arlihama.deviantart.com/ )

4. Why are you so interested in CGing things?
- CG stands for Computer Graphics. Basically, it's digital art. An example would be using photoshop to color in your work, or your drawing. I'm always CGing things, because I also always draw. And besides, as the digital artist for HG Infinity, I have to CG the cover art.

5. Only three ppl working on the school paper (and it's called SPARKS right)?
-Uhm, no, not really. There are around twenty or more of us in the club. It's just that, when the current seniors graduate, there will only be three students from our batch (the new seniors who will succeed them), two succeeding juniors, two succeeding sophomores and three succeeding freshmen. So the high school level will only be composed of ten students...that'd be for next year. And some of the elementary students say that they'll be leaving SPARKS for a new club next year. So the number of working force we have is indecisive.

(Yes, it's called SPARKS. Or even if you don't capitalize the letters, it's fine.)

6. So what sort of stuff do you publish in your paper?
-It's a magazine containing school news. It also features art and literary compositions of the students. It may or may not contain a few random things. It usually has a fun section with puzzles and comic strips. It also contains a letter from the school head, and whatnot.

7. You ARE getting enough sleep, right?
-It depends. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.

8. Have you read those short stories yet?
- Only the champion's composition.

9. pls tell me it didn't take much of your time, I wasn't forcing you.
- okay, so this wasn't a question, but the statement was just BEGGING for a reaction:
yes, it did take up much of my time, and I slept at three because of it. But I had fun. I was looking for ways to vent, anyway. And it isn't at all long, for me. I'm used to writing.

10. ooooh, who's janjie?
- She was an old classmate of mine. She was the one who always read harry potter, even during class, and always spoke english, even during Filipino time.

11. Okay, next, I'll be posting some acronyms and terms I used in the last post.

"Trinoma" - it's the name of a new mall
"MMFF" - stands for Metro Manila Film Festival; every Christmas Season, all cinemas within Metro Manila are required to show ONLY Filipino movies.
"SM North Edsa" - SM, originally meaning "shoe mart" is now a mall...or a whole storm of malls. Lol. EDSA is a place in Metro Manila, and SM North EDSA is just a branch of SM located at the north of EDSA, basically.
"Baler" - a Filipino movie which won the MMFF's best film; it shows the lives of the Filipinos who lived in Baler, a place in Aurora...somewhere south of Manila, after the Treaty at Biac-na-Bato (Biac-na-Bato is a historical place, and i'm not going to expound on it.)
"Stoichiometry" - the science in chemistry concerning the measurements of the substances of a balanced chemical equation of a particular chemical reaction
"AL" - Artistilynx (please see question 2)
"AJSS" - Ateneo Junior Summer Seminar; a series of school-type advanced lessons given during summer vacation in Ateneo de Manila university for junior students in High School as preparation for the entrance exams they'll be taking during Senior year.
"DDR" - Dance Dance Revolution; an arcade game
"CG" - Computer Graphics; see question 3
"Arancarr Pete" - an art piece Gabs drew which he requested me to CG for him.
"Yaoi" - boy on boy relationships; usually in anime
"Yuri" - girl on girl relationships; usually in anime
"Shounen-ai" - boy on boy display of affection, may or may not implicate romance
"Shoujo-ai" - girl on girl display of affection, may or may not implicate romance
"Smut" - mature sexual themes
"dA" - Deviantart[.com]
"PSTextures" - Photoshop Textures; a feature in Adobe Photoshop software where one can use specific "textures" or patterns
"InDesign CS3&4" - Adobe InDesign, Creative Suite 3 and 4; a program used for layouting magazines and newspapers; I need it for editing SPARKS next year.
"OnLocation CS4" - Adobe OnLocation Creative Suite 4; A program used for capturing videos straight from a digital camera
"Soundbooth CS4" - Adobe SoundBooth Creative Suite 4; a program used for recording audio and editing recorded audio
"Illustrator CS3&4" - Adobe Illustrate Creative Suite 3 and 4; a program used for CGing also, or creating vector art and logos
"Owen Eye" - the alias of one of my friends (see question 2) who is the font artist for AL
"Visual Basic 6.0" - a program used for developing software

....and that'd be pretty much it. I'll be posting more stuff if I have to.

Enumeration Under Influence of Coffee

You may or may not know that I am allergic to coffee.
You may or may not know that I am addicted to coffee.
You may or may not know that I just had plenty of coffee.

And you may or may not know what happened in my life, since the last time I posted, which was after my father had an operation. Oh well.

But there have been so many, that I'll just write them all in bullet form or something of the sort.

1. Dec. 25, 2008: We first went to my aunts' (mother side) house where we bonded with the mother-side's family. We had a little bit of a Christmas celebration here at home, with my step sibs and their kids. Kuya Manny had a heart attack and his family couldn't come for Christmas.

2. Dec. 27, 2008: Ate Grace and her family just recently moved to a new house. That day, they had a houseblessing and a housewarming party.

3. Dec. 30, 2008: We went to Trinoma with Jarl and Angel to watch a few weird Filipino movies from MMFF.

3. Dec. 31, 2008 - Jan. 1, 2009: Went to Ate Grace's house again for the New Year's Eve party.

I was having fun with the kids upstairs...since nobody bothered to look after them.

Yay, fireworks, I suppose:

4. Jan. 2, 2009: Went with Aunts (mother side) to SM North Edsa to watch a few more MMFF movies. I saw Baler that day with my mom and younger brother. I have to admit that it was a fantastic movie. Aaaaanyway...

Yup. I just had to look bored. XD

5. Jan. 5, 2008: Back to school, everyone! First day of teaching stoichiometry to my classmates. Two weeks later, we finish the whole lesson. And I'm quite happy with it. Why? We had three exams on stoichiometry. And most of my classmates got good scores on all of them. Meaning? I was effective in some way... or just plainly, I didn't fail.

6. Sometime or other: The Apostles told me to stop hanging by them during break time. If you're asking why, it's a secret. But I'm not offended by it. (Xela was worried I was. =P) They have a good reason.

7. After that...Jan. 9, 2009: The first ever official AL (Artistilynx) Staffers' Meeting at my place. We welcomed Gerald to the group. We had a Soul Eater Premiere Party, showing off episode 16 (I think)... whatever. It was the episode about the exams. We also assigned the SE character roles to each one:
Me: Crona, Stein
Nona: Kid,
Super Chasey: Liz, Maka
Syn: Patti
Gep: Black Star
Xela: Ragnarok, Shinigami-sama
Owen Eye: Soul
...and so on. (Later on, Lliam was assigned Excalibur.)

8. Jan. 10, 2009: In the morning, I went to school (yes, on a Saturday) to attend the special review classes for those who were having advanced review for the AJSS. (Xela was one of them, I just decided to join for no reason.) We then went to the mall, and found Lliam, playing DDR in the arcade. It was apparently his father's birthday. Then Xela and I went to Gep's house to celebrate his birthday. Chocolate fountain party, with strawberries, melon slices, pretzels and marshmallows...yum. Was also Gabs' birthday, which was why I worried on WHY oh WHY wasn't I able to finish the Arrancar Pete CG??? I wasn't even able to start it.

9. Aaaand....somewhere around now: Schoolmates were in danger. Anne Sy got into a comatose. Alessa Reyes has bone tumor. And Mrs. Ramos (our class adviser)'s husband was diagnosed with brain tumor.

10. Just this week: Don Bosco Week Fair--was assigned to selling toys. Won a scrabble competition against Ate Jenn and Aileen. I was paired with Nadz. Pretty much bored and slept during the fair.

11. YESTERDAY: We suggested to not have prom, and instead, use the money allotted for prom to donate to Mrs. Ramos and her husband. Also, I'm entering a contest on making an MTV about the vocation of the nuns. And also, Alex and the others suggested to sell chocolates and give the profit to Mrs. Ramos.

12. TODAY: First had mass, then held a petition to see how many students agree with the no-prom thing. After school, eight of us went to our house: Xela, Nona, Chasey, Syn, Owen Eye, Lliam, Jhe, and I. We were trying to see if the chocolates thing was going to work, so we tried what we can. We made chocolate.

13. Current book: Noli Me Tangere (tr. Touch Me Not; English Title: The Social Cancer) by Dr. Jose P. Rizal

14. Current Anime: Gravitation (I know it's yaoi. Sorry.) and Soul Eater, whenever it gets subbed.

15. Current Manga: a number of them... La Corda d'Oro, FullMetal Alchemist, Pandora Hearts, Korushitsuji (sp?), or whatever gets scanlated.

16. Project 1: Erro requested for me to make a novelette with fifteen chapters. It's supposed to be Yaoi+Smut. It's not that I like yaoi that much. I don't really get the point in either yuri or yaoi. I...think I'm fine with shounen-ai and shoujo-ai. Smut is just a little too graphic. I did this because Erro wanted Xela to make a manga or novelette for her. I took the job instead, because Xela has a deadline for her manga on HGInfinity.

17. Project 2: The HGInfinity: The Sands of Eternity Cover Art and character CG.

18. Project 3: We're supposed to join a summer art workshop, and we needed to submit one piece to apply. So...I have to make one.

19. Project 4: THE VOCATIONAL MUSIC VIDEO!!!

20. Random feeling/insight/nonsense: I've been going around dA and faving lots of stuff. And I just made new friends. I also re-met (new word, yay!) MagikSalem, who used to be on myO with me. I found her on dA through Ate Fran.

21. Anime just finished: Special-A, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2

22. Anime I'm Waiting For: PANDORA HEARTS!! 8D

23. Currently feeling sad about: Mrs. Ramos' husband

24. Currently feeling mad about: The upcoming live-action Avatar movie, with Jesse McCartney playing the role of Prince Zuko and Jackson Rathbone (Jasper - Twilight) as Sokka.

25. Random fair thing: Last fair, we sold about thirty or so posters for Naruto and BLEACH. After that, we had to confiscate all of them, and return the kids' money. WHY? Because...anything that has a culture of death in the media is banned from this school. So even that cute little Nightmare Before Christmas plushie of the Photomores (Sophomore's Photography Booth) was confiscated.

26. Because this is my favorite number, sort of (well, not really), I'm going to state the names of the people I miss:
a. you, you and you...lol, kidding
b. Shakti
c. Gabs
d. Dans
e. JARED!!!!
f. TT___TT Steve.
g. Anna! D=

27. Decided on:
a. Using summer as a time to prepare for next year's SPARKS. Why? Because the elementary kids from SPARKS this year are leaving us because they thought SPARKS was boring. And there are only three seniors (Xela, Miki and Me) in the paper next year. I'll be preparing the layouts and the content, the site, the possible outings--anything and everything--so that we can fulfill them during the school year.
b. I just HAVE to finish the ArtistiLynx.com site!!! TT___TT I'm sorry Nishi, and to all my fellow AL Staffers. I am so busy that I have been rendered useless!

28. A few final reminders: I just have to finish that photoshop of Crimson!

29. What do I have to do tomorrow?
a. Buy a prize for Family Day
b. Buy a gift for my niece (it's her bday next Sunday)
c. Seriously, I have to do the HG Infinity cover art!

30. I plan to learn:
a. How to use PStextures
b. How to CG better
c. How to use InDesign CS3&4
d. How to use OnLocation CS4
e. Soundbooth CS4
f. Ilustrator CS3&4
g. How to finally get those fonts I need from Owen Eye

Obviously, there would be muuuuuch more.... if I just had the time to fully blog everything.

Be thankful that I don't. Otherwise, you would find yourself reading through the ripples in the water of the Fountain of Nonsense (aka. my long blog posts).

This...is my way of giving you a shortened version...

Even if it isn't at all short.

So...

Yes.

Uhm.

Mmhm.

Right.

There are a million things to ramble on about, and I wouldn't really dare. I still know how to pity my readers, which means Shakti and Shakti alone. XD

Oh, so to those people who have any questions with regards to homework, we have Visual Basic 6.0 to pass on Monday, and World History homework about the two world wars.

There's family day on Sunday, yet I'm not attending with my family.

So, yes. That'd be it, for now.
